1. Who we are
TuneBattle operates the music quiz service available at tunebattle.io. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use the service, why we collect it, and what rights you have. We are the data controller for that data and can be reached at contact@apptech.dk.
2. Data we collect
- Account data. Your email address and an authentication identifier. If you sign in with a third-party provider such as Google, we receive the basic profile information that provider shares with us. Guests get an anonymous identifier that is not linked to a real identity.
- Music service data. If you connect Spotify, we receive an access token plus the profile, playlist and playback information needed to run the game. We never receive your streaming service password.
- Gameplay data. Nicknames, game codes, answers, response times, scores, team selections and match history.
- Technical data. Device and browser type, approximate region, language settings, and diagnostic or error logs.
3. How we use your data
We process personal data in order to:
- create and secure your account and keep you signed in;
- run single-player and multiplayer games, including real-time score synchronisation;
- play music through your connected music service;
- display leaderboards and results to other players in the same game;
- maintain, debug, secure and improve the service;
- comply with legal obligations.
4. Legal basis
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on performance of a contract with you, our legitimate interests in keeping the service secure and reliable, your consent where we ask for it, and compliance with legal obligations.
5. Sharing and third parties
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with providers that help us operate TuneBattle: Google Firebase for authentication, database, hosting and serverless functions; music streaming providers such as Spotify for playback and playlist access; and authentication providers such as Google if you sign in with them. Other players in a game you join can see your nickname, avatar, team and score. We may disclose data where required by law.
6. International transfers
Our providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where that happens we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.
7. Cookies and local storage
We use cookies, local storage and similar technologies that are necessary to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, cache game content for offline use, and keep the service secure. You can clear this data in your browser at any time, but parts of the service may then stop working.
8. Retention
We keep account data for as long as your account exists. Gameplay data is kept while it remains useful for statistics and leaderboards. Logs are kept for a limited period. When you delete your account we delete or anonymise your personal data unless we are required by law to keep it longer.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our processing of your personal data, to receive a copy in a portable format, and to withdraw consent you have given. You can disconnect a linked music service at any time from your profile. To exercise these rights, contact contact@apptech.dk. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
10. Children
TuneBattle is not directed at children under 13, or the minimum age required in your country. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Security
We use industry-standard measures such as encrypted connections, access controls and managed infrastructure to protect your data. No online service can be completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "last updated" date above, and give additional notice if the changes are significant.
13. Contact
